The Mighty Thor

A mock cover of a "Thor" comic book. I built the cover elements in photoshop off of a classic Thor comic cover. The background was a Kirby Krackle brush that I got from Pascal Verhoef over on deviantART: http://pascal-verhoef.deviantart.com/art/Kirby-Krackle-Brushes-165359770

Head on over to my Bēhance portfolio to see my process on this illustration, from pencils to the finished cover:https://www.behance.net/gallery/18586023/The-Mighty-Thor

I will be releasing the template for this cover later tonight over on my tumblr account for anyone else who would like to make their own classic Thor comic cover: http://davebardin.tumblr.com/

Hey everyone!  I am excited to announce that I am going to be one of the contributing artists in the upcoming art book “21 Draw.”  I’m really excited to be a part of this project, especially because many of my favorite artists will be in the book as well.  It’s a big honor to be included in there with them.  The project is currently being funded through indiegogo.com.  If you would like to back this project, head on over to their campaign page and take a look at what the book is all about and check out all of the different funding options.  Thank you so much!

Hawke

I’ve been working on some Tellos fan art lately and this is the first illustration of a series. If you’ve never read Tellos you totally should. The book was created by Mike Wieringo (my favorite artist of all time) and Todd Dezago and it is an amazing story filled with action, adventure, and colorful characters. Here you can see my process from pencils (Sketchbook Pro) to inks and colors (Photoshop). I’ve been trying some new coloring techniques lately and I incorporated many of them for the first time into this illustration.
In the words of Tellos…”by thy side.”

Gnome Away From Home

My contribution to the fb page "Titans Weekly Scribblez."  The goal was to take the quiz "Which Fairytale Creature Are You?" and then draw our interpretation of ourselves as that character.  I forgot about the bit about making it look like myself, but this gnome has a big nose and crazy hair and so do I...so, close enough.

Captain Crimson

My take on Captain Crimson from the book "How to Draw Superheroes and Supervillains".  I've owned this book since I was a kid.  Unfortunately I can't actually suggest someone buy this book but the characters in it were just way too crazy for me to not want to draw a few of them.
